As the 9th Annual Confab of SDi is nearing, Don Beck communicated some very important points.And I see them all in realtion to what might be called Integral Global. Moving far beyond European and North American theory endevors. And fully ackknowledging the rapidly increasing role of devoloping countries like the BRIC states Brazil, Russia, India and China. And of Middle East, South Africa and other spaces.
Authors and journalists like Mark Leonard, Gabor Steingart, Fareed Zakaria, Tom Friedman, Parag Khanna, Timothy Garton Ash, Roger Cohen and lots of others are communicating these themes in the public spheres of the developed countries. Right now integral voices are barely to discover. Nor do I see recognition of the relevance and top priority to check, measure and change this stratified realties. Except in the SDi Core constellation around Don Beck, Alan Tonkin, Keith Rice, Elza Maalouf and others. And increasingly in Integral Leadership Review and Kosmos Journal.
Global Large Scale systems change is for me such an incredible priority. Creating integrated leverage and public communication -in classic and new media - of this integral domain was and is my main focus last months and for the next years. Its encouraging to hear the voice of Don here -at recent SDi list exchange -and challenging at the same time. No matter if US after the 08 elections, Europe, Russia, China, India. Mideast or what else...Integral World should very seriously consider his words and decades of field experience in the world.

establish the Human Memome Project -- the Global Vital Signs Monitor
-- but the opportunity is coming from outside this country (big
surprise). At this stage we appear to be the most advanced of any
other group in looking at large societal interventions, and hope to
write a book on same. I once named this i-global since we have been
working in this area for some time.
Further, I introduced and developed the "Transpartisanship" concept
and operational definition back in 2000 and will bring that back to
life. We expect there to be copycats (as usual) with those concepts
but I would challenge anybody to match our complexity, experiences,
and practical applications. Whatever happens in the presidential
nomination process, it is clear there is a new political space. This
has the feel of both the l860 presidential election ( wrote my Ph D
dissertation on that historical event in l966 at the University of
Oklahoma, using the Assimilation/Contrast Effect to explain the
polarization the campaign and election caused, and how that produced
the American Civil War) -- and of the l968 Presidential election
involving Humphrey, Nixon, and Wallace. We were doing academic
research on that election at the University of North Texas on a
faculty grant and I have some quite interesting data on what the
campaign caused in this society. I remember it well. Almost went
to Chicago to experience what I thought would happen. It could well
happen in Denver this year with the Democrat Party again.
So, we have a great deal to talk about, and hope you can attend. As
you know we do very little marketing since we decided early on to
promote a movement and make information available to as many people
as we can regardless of the financial costs to us. The original idea
behind the Confab was to gather as many people as we can who are
interested in this growing body of knowledge, with all kinds of
applications, "war stories from the field," and case-studies, rather
than just teach "the theory."

And challenging too. Lots of Pop Myth like conecptions about change have to be debunked. Take Deepak Chopra, Oprah, Tolle and hundreds of others.
Take global mind shift approaches etc. etc. They all belong to the cultural creative movement in the widest sense. (Beginning with Marylin Fergusons bestseller “The Aqarian Conspiracy” and Peter Russell “Global Brain” in 1980 and 1982. You know it was called New age. Then Gaia hypothesis and lots of other paradigm talk….
The real transitions, shifts and transformations worldwide are deeply aligned to life conditions, nodes , codes and habitats as described in Spiral Dynamics. It was a long journey of discoveries for myself. I found the first hint and application of Clare Graves work and its continued extensions and modifications by Chris Cowan and Don Beck in the book “Strategies of the Dolphin” 1986. Written by Lynch/Cordis.
Only in the last three years I felt in a very muscular, personal and direct way how powerful this approach is. And especially Spiral Dynamics Integral. I can see now that SDi is NOT reducable to the values line as often in AQAL inspired discussions is said.
it remains to be seen in next years and decades how the divrese integral concepts are performing and evolving in the global field testings. And especially the evolving countries in relation to the so called developed ones.
Therefore real tough and challenging work is ahead of us . Global Integral is LOTS more and diverse than global mind shift..):)
I hear you… I am getting 2012 from every direction these days. I was so sure we had left that Age of Aquarius stuff behind but that thinking is more intense than ever

Dear Nicole, My pleasure. Right now I am full speed ahead in professional global endevors. I am learning more about large scale systems change from week to week and day to day.
And lots of talk about Sdi is….please forgive me—bulshit and platitudes. Simple salon Talk. Armchair fashion. Even in integral circles. On the other side Sdi needs more global appearence in the public spheres. Of course its a challenge with necessary manpower, ressources etc. While coaching and consulting with single groups, clients and persons is represented already the large scale change needs specific work and focus.
Basically -for me -it comes down to the building of a global task force for Human Emergence which is able to act , to design, to create impact, muscular power and WArp Speed Communication in real time for flagship projects at the edge.
Right now NO ONE comes even close to Don Beck in decades of large scale change experince. I am envisioning the next 3 decades and how to play the most active role in it.
